Jeffrey D. Cowan is the principal lawyer of Cowan Law, a boutique law firm that provides ongoing legal services to its clients from three Toronto locations. Jeff has practiced law for nearly 20 years and focuses primarily on the areas of corporate/commercial law with an emphasis on small to medium-sized enterprises, real estate (both residential and commercial), and wills and estate planning.
Certified Corporate / Commercial Law Specialist
Jeff holds two undergraduate degrees, one in economics from the University of Western Ontario and one in commerce from Concordia University. He received his law degree from the University of British Columbia where he served as the Senior Editor of the U.B.C. Law Review. While practicing law, he earned an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and further pursued and obtained a Masters of Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in Business Law. Jeff is one of a handful of Certified Specialists in Corporate / Commercial Law in the GTA as designated by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Active Volunteer & Supporter of Community Organizations
Jeff is the past chair of Fashion Cares and has actively volunteered for Casey House and the YMCA as a fitness instructor. He presently sits on the board of directors of the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) which is a new commitment in his continuous support of the fight against HIV / AIDS.
